Nikola Motor Company, the young, popular hydrogen vehicles company based in Phoenix, Arizona, has teamed up with General Motors! Their Nikola Badger Hydrogen Pickup will be built and developed by General Motors now.
As part of this huge strategic partnership, General Motors will receive the 11 % of ownership of Nikola, which will remain an independent company. GM will receive a 2 billion dollars equity stake in Nikola in exchange for in-kind contributions like developing the GM’s promising future technologies: Ultium battery and the Hydrotec Fuel-Cell system. GM will have a right to nominate one Nikola director.
The Nikola Badger will be shown to the crowd at Nikola World 2020 in Arizona held on 3-5 december, 2020. The Badger EV production is about to start in 2022. More informations about this popular project is available at the official site: www.nikolamotor.com/badger
The partnership is the latest move by GM to expand its electric vehicle alliances. Few days ago GM announced that it was teaming up with Honda to develop a wide range of electric powered vehicles.
