The Australian Government has granted approval for Large Renewable Energy Hub in Pilbara, Western Australia. In it’s final stage it will generate over 26GW of renewable wind and solar energy, that will be supplied to Asia in green hydrogen as a storage. Over 5000 jobs created in 10 year project construction time.
Green Hydrogen is a pure, zero emission most wanted type of hydrogen, created in the process of electrolysis by using the only the renewables energy sources. The production COST of Green Hydrogen is still high that’s why the companies are searching for new possibilites to decrease it. Here comes the Agfa with their brand new ZIRFON UTP 500+ electrolysis membrane, that helps to produce the green hydrogen at competitive cost!
The Tech giant is searching the new ways to lengthen the battery life is own devices, and checking the renewable energy sources. Just few days ago the iPhone maker filled a patent application described as “cost effective fuel cell system for a portable computing devices” So the famous Apple MacBooks and iPads may one day be powered by hydrogen fuel cells!
Honda is quitting it’s participation in Formula 1 in order to focus on research and developement of fuel cells technologies, the company announced. Honda builds the power units for Red Bull Racing Formula 1 Team actually. The huge news showing how important period of transformation is just in front of us!
The brand new huge innovation hub is now open in Sweden. The Hydrogen Dome of Sweden is the name for the building and a place where the new platform for dialogue on innovation and sustainable green hydrogen developement will be created. It’s a first step to build an inspirating and solid Swedish Campus that will gather projects around hydrogen!
This is a breakthrough! A team of researchers from Michigan State University managed to develop a fully transparent solar panels. Imagine to use this instead of standard windows in architecture, automotive industry, electronics and more! Previous attempts to create such a device have been made, but results were never satisfying enough. Now its finally here! Its a huge step into diversity of green hydrogen developement as using that source of renewables we can easily transfer clear energy into green hydrogen production.
Siemens signed a contract with WUN H2 to to build one of the largest hydrogen production plants in Wunsiedel, Bavaria, Germany. With a power of over 6 MegaWatts in the initial phase, the plant will run 100% on renewable energy and will be totally CO2-free! The electrolysis plant from Siemens Energy will have the capacity to produce over 900 tons of hydrogen per year in this first phase!
ORLEN Group will start to open hydrogen refuelling stations in Czech Republic. Two Benzina stations will be located in Prague and Litvínov and fully operational in 2021. Next stations in Brno, Plzen and Prague, along the D10 motorway will follow. These projects will support the ORLEN Group’s commitment to achieve emission neutrality by 2050.
The European airplane manufacturer AirBus presented their three hydrogen based concepts that within the next 15 years will become the World’s First Zero Emission commercial aircraft! Each of them are representing a quite different approach to the zero emission goal, but all are based on hydrogen as a primary power source, that is a clear sign that AirBus belives this is the only right path to clean aviation fuel!
After three years of developement a stand alone hydrogen powered dual-fuel engine is ready! Build by ABS and shipping company CMB, with a capacity of 1 MegaWatt it can be used on ships, trains or as a standard power generator in hospital, factory or data centre! A 1 MW BeHydro can supply green electricity to 3,000 families and reduces CO2 emissions by 3,500 tons. Thanks to Dual-fuel technology, the engine can continue to supply power, even if no renewable energy or hydrogen is available!
AuroraHut is the Finnish manufacturer of Igloo houseboats, that lately are getting more and more popular worldwide! Following the World GLAMPING trend, that stands for a close to nature camping but with a high standars, it’s a completely new way of making the dream holiday an unforgettable experience, now thanks to hydrogen Fuel Cells in a full harmony with nature!
North Jutland begins the change by putting action behind the Regions decision of strengthening the regional work on climate improvements and the reduction of CO2 emissions. The three hydrogen busses that the North Denmark Region has ordered together with the Municipality of Aalborg, will be running on one citybus line in Aalborg and on selected regional bus lines around Aalborg.
The Coradia iLint Hydrogen train from Alstom was built in Salzgitter, Germany. It uses on-board fuel cells to convert hydrogen and oxygen into electricity, thus reducing operating emissions to zero. During the semptember, october and november, the hydrogen train will run for the first time in regular passenger service for ÖBB, the Austrian Federal Railways.
